Tell us about your novel.

Meet Me in Paradise is the story of Marin Cole, a professional worrier who never goes anywhere, and the love of her life, her wild wanderlust-filled younger sister Sadie. When Sadie returns rundown from a tough assignment, Marin reluctantly agrees to a sisters' spa weekend on the tropical island of Saba. But instead of a relaxing family trip, Sadie misses the flight, Marin’s luggage and passport go missing, and turbulence sends her flying into the lap of Lucas Tsai, the handsome stranger who claimed her sister's seat. What Marin doesn’t know, is that the trip was a setup to teach Marin how to live it up. If she wants to get home, she’ll have to have some adventures and document it all online. Each breathtaking new experience brings her closer to her real self, the man she’s falling for, and the heart-wrenching truth about why Sadie sent her away.

What do you hope readers take away from your debut?

I hope that Meet Me in Paradise inspires readers to step outside their comfort zones, hold their loved ones close, and open themselves up to new experiences.

What are your interests outside of writing?

I have two kids at home doing virtual school and a full-time, rather intense day job in health economics and outcomes research, so I don’t have a ton of other interests. When I have the time, I enjoy painting, making tiny books out of clay, playing badminton, and watching Mandarin-language television dramas.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on revisions for my second book, If You Ask Me, which follows North Carolina’s most beloved advice columnist whose whole world is shattered when she discovers her husband’s been cheating with their nextdoor neighbor while she was at bootcamp class. She’s always had the perfect answer to everything, but now she has to find her true voice to move on and write her own happy ending. It’s very southern and funny, and has a firefighter cinnamon roll hero, so I’m really enjoying myself.

What are you reading lately?

Right now, I’m reading A Rogue to Remember by Emily Sullivan, which is an absolutely wonderful historical romance that had me at hello. Before that I loved Serena Singh Flips the Script by Sonya Lalli, which is a women’s fiction-romance crossover. I also just finished listening to Holidaze by Christina Lauren, which was super fun and swoony.

Preorder Meet Me in Paradise (March 23).
